Tommytots Pre-School has been established in the local village hall of Sutton-In-Craven for over 6 years, a registered charity group, non-profit making and committee run group.
We have gone from strength to strength over the years, promoting quality care and education meeting the needs of the community.
- Providing for children aged 2 years to school intake
- Funded places for 3 and 4 year olds - under North Yorkshire Guidelines
- Expanding the hours
- Extending the sessions - which is on-going
- Promoting Quality Care and Education for the under fives
- Working in Partnership with the families who use our provision
- Providing opportunities for access to training for parents
- Supporting the needs of all children
We have sound links within our community with local schools, other organisations and other care agencies.

To enhance the development and education of children under statutory school age in a parent involving , community based group.

- Our Keyworker system enables us to ensure our planned curriculum is tailored to the needs of each child
- By means of developmentally appropriate play activities and a high level of individual adult support, we offer a curriculum which leads to nationally approved Early Learning Goals and prepares children to progress with confidence to the National Curriculum at the age of five
- We are PROUD of our Highly Qualified Caring Staff
- We ensure all staff have access to further training developing their skills in turn benefits our group. Working towards Pre-School Learning Alliance Accreditation Scheme
Our Staff include the following:
Manager: BTECH Nursery Nurse, Diploma in Pre-School Practice level 3, 730/7 and Cert Ed
Committee employs five members of staff:
Four Play leaders ; Level 3 qualified
One Assistant Play leader ; level 2
Two Volunteers; level 3 qualified
All staff have up to date First Aid in Childcare, Child Protection, Basic Food Hygiene and Special Needs Training
All staff have attended a variety of training courses including Behaviour Management, Equal Opportunities and Early Years Training.
We have two experienced SEN Co-ordinaters, one Behaviour Management Co-ordinater and a Child Protection Co-ordinater
